March 2017-- National Nutrition Month

National Nutrition Month was developed by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Our focus this month will be on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. 

Be sure to stay in touch with our Facebook page for daily tips, recipes and videos from area Nutritionists and Dieticians and we'll have a library of ideas kept below for you as well.

The Interactive Caregiving that our office of Comfort Keepers offers helps with preparing not only the grocery list but also the healthy meals you'd like to eat,  We can take you shopping for food, and take you to the doctor's for your check-ups. All of the services we offer are all centered around  fulfilling your wish to achieve a healthier and more enjoyable lifestyle.

       

The first recipe from our Facebook page will take less than a minute to make (45 seconds actually) "Overnight Oats" is an easy and nutritious way to eat a very healthy breakfast and have a great start to the day. Add in your favorite fruit and you've made it all that much better.

 

In looking at the best recipes for breakfast nutrition, we also need to know some of the WORST ...

Mid-Day Pick-me-ups

Maybe you're starting to feel your energy leaving you by the late afternoon. Here are a few ideas for some healthy snacks to help get you through til dinner.

 

(L) Skip the 2nd or even 3rd cup of coffee, have some tomato juice, or grab a V8. They're a great way of fighting off the urges for late afternoon sugar. 

(C) It's been a a few hours since lunch and there's still a few hours left in the day, then it's a great time to have some yogurt. As well as being filling, yogurt also contains probiotics, and offers protein, calcium and vitamins,  

(R) Pretzels - A definite Friday afternoon snack - salt, carbs and no fat. An ideal nutritious filler to end your well-planned nutritious week.
