July & August - Staying Cool in the Summer
As summer in the South Shore and Cape Cod starts and temperatures start to heat up, Comfort Keepers will be featuring tips throughout the month on how we can all stay cool and safe on our webpage and Facebook page. We've just added some amazingly easy and refreshing summer recipes like this delicious, non-alcoholic frozen berry drink. Just click on the picture and you'll be taken straight to its recipe.
- Slow down, avoid strenuous activity. Do not try to do too much on a hot day.
- Wear lightweight, loose-fitting, light-colored clothing. Light colors will reflect heat and sunlight and help maintain normal body temperature.
- Go to a place where you can get relief from the heat, such as air conditioned schools, libraries, theaters and other community facilities that may offer refuge during the warmest times of the day. Your local Senior Center is a great source of relief for the heat. Comfort Keepers has a list of all of the Senior Centers listed alphabetically in our extensive service area. Simply click here and you'll be taken directly to the page.
